As an art critic, and an artist I want to dive into this solemn introspection of a female portrait painting. She is seated underneath architectural elements while brooding thoughtfully with her hand on her chin and wearing glasses in soft tones of pink yellow and teal blue. But what is to me made of this, and how can it best define who we are, and what we do on a daily basis. This is not just a simple portrait of a brooding emo girl. This is much more. The background architectural elements help shape the space she is in. It's large, expansive, vast and empty. Is this a symbolic gesture to use, the viewers of the painting, as to how we are as a species floating in the vastness of space? How do we cope with being part of that space and time?
This is the beginning of a new epoch in our lives where we all must deal with being lost in the void and how we will handle this new era we've been thrown into. We must learn to coexist, to be one, but yet remain unique, or at least find a way to...
