Description
The splash of color is the first thing that captures you. As a philosophical art critic interpreting the meaning, theme, ethics, and values behind this spectacular combination of three figures dancing across the splash of color helps shape that in a deeper manner. The painting of three female figures dancing and feeling joyous and colorful across the canvas feels like it can hop off the thick paint strokes and spread joy by being festive and pull them into their circle of love and fun. The colors of the rainbow are embedded in this painting, and tell us really easily their meaning on how to live our lives and view the world around us and how it impacts our lives. be free, be fun, be joyous and celebrate. The three figures are holding hands and dancing in a circle with an explosion of color surrounding them. They are all nude figures which gives off vibrancy and happiness. To be free of clothes and march around in a circle with your friends must be the epitome of letting go of societal traits instilled in us from a young age. They have different hairstyles too; one has long curly hair, another has short black hair, and golden curls on the blonde. Each has a smile on their face as they move their bodies to the music. They do not look at one another, but are facing out at us. The watchers. They are doing their thing and making every attempt to suck up into the painting with them. Can we? Can we let go and just dive into the color ala Mary Poppins? Is it really that easy to just let go of our hangups? These three did it, we must be convinced. They are smiling and laughing together and seem happy and carefree. The paintings overall message is that we should let loose, get rid of any negativity and enjoy life. We should enjoy life even if it's hard. We need to find ways to express ourselves and release all of those bottled up feelings inside of us. Let's go! Let's dance! The color pops, sharp lines, and mixture of colors give us a festive mood. One where cultural divides can be tossed to the side. This painting is a way for people to come together and feel the joys of being alive and free. The women are not trying to hide anything, they are embracing their body and showing everyone what they got. They are happy and having fun, and want to show it off.

But was in our lives are filled with this much colour? Is it a false veneer of what life really is? Is it something that we can get on board with? When was the last time one was so easily happy. A child is like this, but as adults we each have a mask that protect us. If you pull down the mask what do you show to the world? Will you be the same person you were before you pulled down the mask or will you change? The masks are there to keep others away, but now that you've removed yours you are open to new experiences and new ideas. You have to make sure that when you take the mask off you're ready to put it back on again because no one wants to see someone who has been through a lot of trauma and pain without putting the mask back on again. Are you in too much pain to dance? Has life challenged you that much? You might be surprised at yourself when you remove the mask for the first time and see what happens.
And then you look up and see the three figures dancing together and realize they all feel good about themselves. They have removed the masks that protected them from the outside world and now they can share in this moment. You can too. Hop in, the water is fine.
